Michael B. Hamar has resided principally in Virginia since 1972. He lives in Norfolk and has three children, Lauren, Peter and Victoria, who currently works as a paralegal with the law firm. Prior to returning to the Hampton Roads area in 1983, Michael practiced in a corporate law firm in Mobile, Alabama, and served as in-house counsel to the oil and gas subsidiary of a Fortune 50 company. Michael has been a member of several large Hampton Roads law firms and opened Michael B. Hamar, P.C. in April 2006. In his spare time, Michael enjoys surfing, sailing, reading and writing a politica blog. Michael has been active in a variety of community civic and charitable organizations in the Norfolk/Virginia Beach area, including the Hampton Roads Committee to Prevent Child Abuse, the Ghent Business Association, and Hampton Roads Business OutReach.
